Couples & Relationship Therapy - Tailored for Life’s Complexities
Modern relationships are evolving, and so are the pressures couples face. Relationship Therapy offers a safe space to talk things over and consider how to bring about change or acceptance in your relationships. Lots of the time people come in crisis so we need to slow things down and look at the roots of the issues. I aim to work alongside clients to help them gain self-acceptance and hope, whilst also being with them through painful and difficult moments.
I hold a non-judgmental and open-hearted approach to what every person brings. The focus is on building a strong trusting therapeutic relationship between us all, from which to support each person to consider what feels most important to them and show up with authenticity.
My relationship is to 'your relationship' rather than to you as individuals, this can feel a change for those who have been in 1:1 therapy before.
I utilise a range of approaches which is often called 'Integrative Therapy'. I may be directive at times and offer ideas about techniques to try in the session or at home, where relevant I can help people understand things using ideas from neuroscience, for example, how the brain automatically reacts in certain situations. Early life experiences with parents/carers/ family systems can shape our future relationships, this is called Attachment Theory. This may be something to explore if it feels relevant in our work together.
I will help partners to develop their communication skills as a core theme to enable people to explore challenging topics with validation, empathy and compassion for themselves and their partner, as I strongly believe it is more about 'how' you say something that what you actually say. I will always be drawing our attention to the conscious and unconscious dynamics at play, to help you build a relationship based on honestly, trust and growth.
I offer both long and short term work depending on client's needs and circumstances.
Supporting Relationships through life's challenges, specifically Perimenopause, ADHD, Gender Identity, and Parental Ambivalence
I offer couples therapy that recognises how complex and layered relationships can be – especially when big life transitions or identity questions arise. My specialist training in couples work through The Grove Practice means I’m equipped to support you and your partner with care, compassion, and clinical expertise.
Whether you're navigating the challenges of perimenopause, living with ADHD, exploring gender identity, or feeling unsure about parenthood – you're not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out all by yourselves.
Navigate Perimenopause together
Hormonal changes can affect mood, energy, intimacy, and communication. I help couples make sense of these shifts together, with empathy and practical strategies for staying connected during this life phase.
Understand and Support ADHD in Relationships
Whether one or both partners is neurodivergent, ADHD can bring both gifts and challenges to a relationship. Together, we can explore patterns around attention, emotional regulation, and communication – and find ways to work with them, not against them.
Explore Gender Identity and Relationship Dynamics
If one or both partners is questioning or exploring gender identity, I offer a supportive space to process what this means for you and your relationship. I welcome LGBTQIA+ couples and understand how identity and connection are deeply interwoven.
Make Sense of Parental Ambivalence
Not sure if parenting is right for you? Feeling differently from your partner about whether to have children? These are tender topics, and I offer a space where you can talk openly and honestly – without pressure, blame, or judgement.
What to Expect from Therapy
My approach is grounded, relational, and integrative. We’ll look at how your individual experiences shape your dynamic as a couple, explore how you communicate and connect, and work together to build a relationship that feels safer, more satisfying, and more resilient.
Whether you're in crisis or just feeling stuck, couples therapy can be a turning point.
